The Rotary Action Plan
Meeting held at Rotary Nature Park, catered by Mckenzie Meadows Golf Course.
Attendance – 26 including guests Janet Popoff, Judy Thompson, Bernice Bohnet, Lyla Stevens and speaker Andrew Schoepf
Andrew from Alberta parks, spoke of the park system in the Calgary area. Of note, Fish Creek Park sees 2.5 to 3 million visitors annually. It was designed for 10% of that.
Jim Thompson reviewed some of the history of the park, starting in 1993, when the McKenzie Meadows planned for it to be an additional golf course. Due to a power line right of way , this couldn’t work, so Jim spearheaded the effort of what we see today- “a place to enjoy nature”.

November 11 (Rotary Remembers) Carriage House Convention Center on Nov 11 from 10am to approx. 1:30. The guest speaker will be Major General (ret.) Barry Ashton, the former commander of the 1st Canadian Brigade Group. This year will be the 15th annual Rotary Remembers and Rotarians from all Calgary Rotary Clubs will gather to honour the past service of fellow Rotarians.
December 1 - The DG will visit Chinook club

2027 Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Month January 17 - Dave Rutherford former talk show host.
