Jul. 30, 2024
As noted, the cost per person is $45 which pays for the entry cost and use of the Patio. This amount also covers a food item, soft drink and a bag of chips. The choices for the food item are a hot dog, a hamburger, a beef brisket sandwich or a steak (note that the steak will cost an additional $10). They will deliver our food choices to our Patio shortly after the game starts.
So we ask everyone who is interested to kindly check their schedule and if you wish to attend then email Paul (Gaudetco@shaw.ca) confirming your decision to attend and selecting your meal choice. Please understand that this confirmation will commit you to pay the attendance fee of $45 per person. You can e-transfer the funds to Paul at the same email address or hand them to him at one of our upcoming meetings.

Amarok Society
Oct. 01, 2024
Like Rotary, Amarok Society believes basic education for all is critical to humanity realizing its potential. Today, 1 in 4 children grows up illiterate, and 1 in 3 has no opportunity for meaningful education – and that figure hasn't budged in a decade. UNESCO calls it an Education Crisis. New approaches are needed. As you may recall, Amarok Society does something very different. Rather than building schools, we teach illiterate mothers to become (volunteer) teachers of children. In each of our locations, we teach 25 mothers in rented shacks in megacity slums. Each mother then operates, under our supervision, her own little school, teaching at least 5 children every day. These women become powerful catalysts of positive social change are also moving thousands of children at any time from destitution to a life of hopeful possibility. AS co-founder and best-selling author Gem Munro will be in your area in the first half of October and would welcome the opportunity to return to your club to speak, providing an update on our operations and Rotary’s ongoing participation and support. |
